Old Man Tiber, the village carpenter, had a very important job every year. He was the one who made and put up the “North Pole” sign. It wasn't just any sign; it was the official welcoming marker for Santa's speedy arrival! 🔨❄️

Every November, Tiber would carefully select the tallest, straightest birch tree, then attach a freshly made sign. This year, though, he decided to make the pole a bit more festive. Instead of plain birch, he painted it like a giant candy cane – bright red and white swirls all the way up! 🍭

As he was setting the sign in place, a flurry of fluffy snowflakes began to fall, clinging to the edges of the sign and making it look extra magical. Little Elsie, bundled in a warm coat and hat, gasped with delight. “It’s beautiful, Mr. Tiber!” she exclaimed. 👧
